Since February, 2008, I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) through Synergis on a contract basis as User Experience Lead.

My Current role encompasses:

  • Capture business requirements
  • Develop user experience flows with alternate flows and error conditions
  • Construct functional, data-driven wireframes using iRise
  • Incorporate accessibility standards in all designs
  • Socialize and document the iRise simulations to gain business approvals
  • Polish simulations and guide user testing for design validation
  • Provide documentation for IT business analysts to use as foundation for creating functional specifications
  • Assist QA in formulation of User Acceptance Test plans
  • Participate in UAT, document in Test Director and provide assistance in resolving defects

Previously, I worked for nearly three years at The Home Depot Store Support Center in Atlanta, GA, on in-store customer kiosk and user-centered design after spending a little over a year with Ajilon Consulting at JPMorganChase as a Functional Designer / Information Architect on projects for home equity lending.

A proven record of solid achievement
a history of on-time, on-budget, successful projects --

  • Usable, attractive interactive kiosk designs for Home Depot customers to browse home project how-to information, shop online for products not available in the store and apply for instant credit. (~100 deployed units)
  • Usability testing and user-centered design reviews with HTML code and CSS deliverables to enhance development projects without impacting deadlines.
  • Transformed business requirements into complete functional specifications with full-scale dynamic HTML/JavaScript wireframes, created and executed User Acceptance Testing plans and launched multiple successive generations of home equity online applications.
  • Designed, built and operated the IT side of a multiphase national promotional campaign integrating print and TV advertising with a strong "call to action". It attracted 100,000 responses to a promotional web site and an 800-number over a 9 month period.
  • Created a geographical customer prospecting system linked to a retailer locator system that maps the location and density (by US ZIP code) of potential customers to assist in market development and resource planning for sales and marketing.
  • Monitored the web statistics for impact on web site traffic for promotional campaigns. In the key month of April 2004, traffic for www.corian.com saw a 42% increase in page views over April 2003 and www.zodiaq.com traffic increased 261% !
